Diabetes is a problem with your body that causes blood glucose (sugar) levels to rise higher than normal. Type 2 diabetes is a disease where the body doesn’t produce insulin properly. People aren’t born with with this type of diabetes. There are many young adults in the world that are affected by this disease, and there are treatments for it. Though this isn’t always the matter, eating unhealthy foods or being overweight may be a large factor for getting this disease. With the help of good doctors and treatments, the many young adults affected can still live a healthy life.
If a person has type 2 diabetes his body does not use insulin properly. This is called insulin resistance. At first, his pancreas makes extra insulin to make up for it, but, over time it isn't able to keep up and can't make enough insulin to keep blood glucose at normal levels. It has long been known that T2D is inherited. Family studies have revealed that first degree relatives of individuals with T2D are about 3 times more likely to develop the disease than individuals without a positive family history of the disease. Type 2 diabetes and it’s treatments have a great impact on our economy today. It costs a lot of money for doctor visits and treatments for this disease. Type 2 diabetes is actually most common in the United States. One of the main reasons of that is because the United States has the most obese people. Overall the United States’ people have the hardest time with their health in terms of their weight and insulin rate. In countries that don’t have as much of an abundant supply of food or very poor countries would most likely be less at risk at getting type 2 diabetes.
There are many benefits for reengineering the cure for diabetes. One benefit for type 2 diabetes may be that it keeps a person from becoming too unhealthy and overweight. If his or her body doesn’t have enough insulin to keep up with how much the body is absorbing, having type 2 diabetes, in general, will limit the person to not eating as poorly. Another advantage would be that reengineering type 2 diabetes will open up the person’s eyes and make them realize that they need to make sure they are eating healthy. It shows that they need to healthily maintain their body at all times; they can drink more water, take more vitamins, and work out more. With the risk of getting type 2 diabetes in peoples’ minds, hopefully this will help people realize the certain healthy choices that they need to make in order to not be affected by this disease. In addition, reengineering insulin produced by the human pancreas can be life-saving to millions of people.
Unfortunately, there are also risks of reengineering the cure diabetes. One risk for type 2 diabetes may be that the person might begin to have unhealthy eating patterns. He or she might think that bulimia is the answer to their problems because they still want to eat. Another risk would be that if that person doesn’t take the needed amount of insulin, they will feel very sick. Type 2 diabetes can cause major problems and it can even cause death if not taken care of correctly.
A person could say that the treatments for this disease are moral, and some may say that they are immoral. They could be considered moral and immoral because some doctors give treatments for it with consideration for money, safety, productivity of the outcome, etc. Some doctors give outrageously expensive treatments, and some try to given that will be affordable for the patient. Some of the treatments used may not be entirely safe for the patient, and that is also a very important factor for any stage of life.
Type 2 diabetes has a great effect on young adults today.  We think that humans should consider re-designing life. The treatments for things such as type 2 diabetes aren’t perfect, and there must be something else out there that can really help people with other diseases. There might also be more safe products to use without terrible side effects. Young adults don’t always have enough money to keep up with the treatments for their disease also. These are all factors that should be considered in the re-designing of life and type 2 diabetes in young adults.
